Demand for the new 5G iPhone 12 Pro has been much stronger than Apple expected, resulting in supply constraints for some components, reports Nikkei. The company is purportedly short on power chips and lidar components and has reallocated some iPad components to iPhone 12 Pro to help keep up with demand.
„That has affected around 2 million units in overall iPad production compared with its previous production plan for this year,“ one of the sources said.
Notably, Apple has also requested a significant number of iPhone 11, SE, and XR handsets to help address demand.
